These days everybody happens to suffer from hypertension, depression and anxiety disorder. Work life pressure and other personal tensions are the instigating cause behind such problems. While many may consider it to be a mere bad phase of life, there are times when people have fatally succumbed to heart attacks and stroke.

Such situation highly advocates the need to practice relaxation techniques. A relaxation exercise can help an individual cultivate the power to be completely in command of the senses and to be able to regulate hormonal imbalances voluntarily. Abnormal hormone secretion causes anxiety, depression and leads the blood pressure to rise. High blood pressure can adversely affect the internal organs and cause undesirable ailments.

Relaxation techniques on the other hand calms the mind, stabilizes the hormonal discharge, helps in good blood circulation and thus keeps the body in a healthy condition. Yoga is a popular relaxation exercise. While meditation in a mute manner tends to control the mind and build focus, the concept of yoga is to relax the mind by relaxing the body muscles. The art is performed through specific breath-in; breathe-out techniques. Thus one should perform yoga under the supervision of a professionally trained administrator.

However there are various other relaxation techniques which can be applied. Walking, swimming, gardening are some of the daily life activities which can help to channel out all frustrations and negative energies. Doctors say that relaxing the natural way is a lot better than living on pills. So next time you get worried try to use the relaxation techniques to feel better.
